Evidence of Japanese encephalitis virus infections in swine populations in 8 provinces of Cambodia: Implications for national Japanese encephalitis vaccination policy

► 65.7% of pigs were positive for JEV by HI assay in 8 provinces in Cambodia. ► The positivity rate in swine > 6 months was higher than in swine ≤ 6 months. ► Among HI positive swine > 6 months, 69.5% had titer > 160 and 24.6% had titer ≥ 1280. ► Our result underscores the implementation of surveillance system of JEV in swine. ► Results suggest an urgent need for nationwide JE vaccination to control the disease.
