Abstract
⺠Culture enrichment with PCR was used to investigate the distribution of Naegleriae. ⺠Naegleria spp. were detected in 19 (17.8%) of the 107 recreational water samples. ⺠The Naegleria-positive samples showed more total coliforms. ⺠Some Naegleria spp. may pose health risks to people who frequent recreational waters.
