Abstract
⺠3129 sandflies caught in the mixed focus of Leishmania tropica and L. major, Southeast Tunisia. ⺠Phlebotomus papatasi predominated in all habitats of L. major sites. ⺠P. sergenti was the most abundant species inside houses of L. tropica patients. ⺠P. riouxi or P. chabaudi was the dominant species in the semi-natural rocky habitats. ⺠All specimens of P. chabaudi characterised molecularly were identified as P. riouxi.
