Abstract
⺠Widespread resistance to most of the insecticide classes was detected. ⺠DDT resistance persists in Aedes aegypti from all the locations evaluated. ⺠DDT cross resistance may be affecting the efficacy of pyrethroids in the field. ⺠Different resistance mechanisms are affecting the susceptibility to most type of insecticide use in vector control programs in Colombia. ⺠The periodic surveillance of the resistance is necessary in order to maintain the efficacy of the spray programs. ⺠It is important to decrease the insecticide pressure through Integrated Pest Management and community participation.
