Abstract
► Widespread resistance to most of the insecticide classes was detected. ► DDT resistance persists in Aedes aegypti from all the locations evaluated. ► DDT cross resistance may be affecting the efficacy of pyrethroids in the field. ► Different resistance mechanisms are affecting the susceptibility to most type of insecticide use in vector control programs in Colombia. ► The periodic surveillance of the resistance is necessary in order to maintain the efficacy of the spray programs. ► It is important to decrease the insecticide pressure through Integrated Pest Management and community participation.
