Abstract
⺠We characterized a total of 29 members of the S. japonicum tetraspanin family. ⺠Seven polymorphic tetraspanins have less potential to be antigen candidates. ⺠Schistosome TSPs are highly divergent from those of other phyla. ⺠All 29 S. japonicum tetraspanins are differentially expressed during development. ⺠Four tetraspanins are promising candidate antigens for new vaccine development.
