Abstract
- We describe an IC-qPCR assay for detection of human adenoviruses in water samples.
- In this system, viral DNA is detected after virus capture by anti-hexon antibodies.
- DNA extraction and purification steps are not needed.
- IC-qPCR has a 3-log higher sensitivity than sandwich ELISA.
- IC-qPCR assay detects structurally intact viral particles.
