Abstract
⺠The Determine⢠Combo assay was evaluated in a South African setting. ⺠The antibody and antigen components of the assay were evaluated individually. ⺠Thirteen of the 16 seroconversion specimens belonged to HIV-1 subtype C. ⺠The Determine⢠Combo assay detected HIV antibodies with a sensitivity of 90.7%. ⺠The Determine⢠Combo assay detected p24 antigen with sensitivity of 10%.
