Abstract
⺠High resolution melting chemistry accurately estimates levels of PERV provirus. ⺠Utility as multiplex PCR to test PERV infection in xenograft recipients whilst checking for microchimerism and sample quality. ⺠Auckland Island animals with low PERV gene dosage were identified for future selective breeding. ⺠No PERV infection found in human recipients of porcine pancreatic islets.
