Abstract
► E-NTPDase and E-ADA activities are decreased in lymphocytes of IFCD patients. ► These enzymatic alterations modulate immune and inflammatory responses in IFCD patients. ► It suggests purinergic system ecto-enzymes control morbidity during chronic disease. ► Extracellular ATP and adenosine concentrations are involved in Th2 response induction. ► Enzymatic modulation in lymphocytes controls clinical progress of Chagas' disease.
