► Latent toxoplasmosis is one of the most important risk factors for schizophrenia. ► Effects of Toxoplasma are mediated by increased dopamine and decreased tryptophan. ► Some of these effects are products of manipulation activity of Toxoplasma. ► Toxoplasmosis could be indirectly responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths.
