Abstract
⺠Cutaneous human papillomaviruses (HPVs) are linked to non-melanomic skin cancer development. ⺠HPV-16 E7 is known to interact with IKKα leading to a downregulation of the NF-κB activity. ⺠We show that selected cutaneous HPV types all downregulate NF-κB activity. ⺠We show that the same cutaneous HPV types all interact with IKKα. ⺠This suggests a common mechanism shared by all HPV types used to avoid an immune response.
