Abstract
⺠The MAdV-2 genome (35,203 bp) is considerably larger than MAdV-1 and -3. ⺠The increased genome size of MAdV-2 is due to larger genes. ⺠The MAdV-2 E1B 19K gene is very long (coding for 330 aa) with N-terminal homology. ⺠The E3 of MAdV-2 has the 12.5K gene that is not present in MAdV-1 and -3. ⺠Phylogeny implies that the three MAdVs are the most ancient mastadenoviruses.
