Abstract
⺠Influence of high shear and particle impingement on PWC is assessed. ⺠Parent metal became the anode and the weld material was the cathode. ⺠Both sand presence and high, local shear stresses influenced PWC resistance. ⺠Increased shear stress and particle impingement caused PWC in one test. ⺠This research is important if sand production on oil and gas facilities occurs
