Abstract
⺠A disc was tested on a bench in order to investigate its damage evolution. ⺠An experimental-numerical analysis defines the stress-strain cycle during tests. ⺠Investigations confirmed the occurrence of microcracks and phase transformations. ⺠To conclude, the identified critical stop-braking is what led to the disc failure.
