Abstract
⺠Composites' microstructure has uniform SiC-particle distribution and good interface bonding. ⺠Friction coefficient of composite brake drums increased with SiC-particle & Heat Treatment. ⺠Friction coefficient of composite brake drums was higher than cast iron drums. ⺠Composite brake drum and shoe interface temperatures was lower than that with CI. ⺠SEM observations of the composite brake drum rubbing surface show grooving and pitting.
