Abstract
⺠Surface mechanical attrition treatment (SMAT) on Ti-6Al-4V resulted in nanostructuring of surface. ⺠SMAT increased fretting wear resistance due to higher hardness, lower friction and more TiO2 layer. ⺠Fretting resistance of samples tested against alumina was lower than that of the samples tested against steel.
