Abstract
⺠Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation can accurately predict the wear mechanism. ⺠A model for the wear of diamond cutting tool during SPDT of silicon is proposed. ⺠SiC formation and sp2 hybridisation was found to be the cause of wear. ⺠High temperature at flank face causes relatively more wear at tool flank face.
