Abstract
⺠Based on the Reynolds equation and the dynamic operation conditions of cylinder liner/piston ring, the theoretical models of the load carrying capacity and film thickness were developed. ⺠Ranges of the optimum texturing parameters were found. ⺠Texturing with variable parameters in different velocity ranges can produce higher load carrying capacity and thicker film than that with invariable parameters. ⺠An optimal texturing design method on cylinder liner was proposed.
