Abstract
⺠Sliding wear of mild steel specimen with and without WC coating was studied. ⺠WC coated specimens showed superior wear resistance results. ⺠Co with good ductility, promoted dense transfer film and resulted good adherence. ⺠equilibrium rate of film transfer to the disc is due to loss of wear particles. ⺠WC coating can be as a protection against wear under dry sliding conditions.
