Abstract
⺠The wear rate increases marginally with applied load prior to reaching the transition load. ⺠The temperature initially increases slowly with increase in applied pressure. ⺠There is no definite trend was observed for friction coefficient as the applied pressure increases. ⺠Simply by addition of 10 wt% SiCp to the base alloy the seizure resistance is improved by 33%. ⺠Observed continuous grooves, damaged regions, parallel lips and destruction of MML on wear surface.
