Abstract
⺠The sliding-sticking contacts and tool wear are considered in this research work. ⺠The proposed hybrid model is a new approach that predicts the local friction law. ⺠The proposed methodology can be used to optimise cutting conditions in machining. ⺠The main contribution concerns the role of modelling in understanding the interface.
