Abstract
►To investigate the wear behaviour of newly developed titanium alloys Ti-5Al-4V-0.6Mo-0.4Fe (Ti54) sliding against tungsten carbide wheel. ►To construct wear maps of Ti54 titanium alloy under dry and cryogenics conditions. The sliding parameters considered are load, speed and test duration in dry and cryogenic environments. ►In order to reduce the experimental activities and maximize result quality, a design of experiment (DoE) is implemented using a factorial design of 23 along with response surface methodology (RSM) to develop wear maps for titanium alloys at both room and cryogenic temperatures.
