Abstract
âºTo investigate the wear behaviour of newly developed titanium alloys Ti-5Al-4V-0.6Mo-0.4Fe (Ti54) sliding against tungsten carbide wheel. âºTo construct wear maps of Ti54 titanium alloy under dry and cryogenics conditions. The sliding parameters considered are load, speed and test duration in dry and cryogenic environments. âºIn order to reduce the experimental activities and maximize result quality, a design of experiment (DoE) is implemented using a factorial design of 23 along with response surface methodology (RSM) to develop wear maps for titanium alloys at both room and cryogenic temperatures.
