Abstract
⺠Single asperity scratch tests with different tip sizes were used to study the influence of size. ⺠Wear rate decreases with increasing size of the abrasive body. ⺠Testing at low loads revealed a new regime for the degree of wear. ⺠At low loads the degree of wear increases due to plastic deformation of the subsurface.
