Abstract
⺠A novel liquid jet erosion rig was used for testing erosion behaviour of hardmetals. ⺠Jet velocity, impact angle, binder content, composition and grain size were studied. ⺠An average velocity exponent of 3.4 was registered. ⺠Grain size reduction (3.5-0.6 μm) more than halve the erosion rate. ⺠A mixed binder (CoNiCr) reduces the erosion rate considerably versus Co binder.
