Abstract
⺠We investigate the formation process of channels milled by an abrasive waterjet. ⺠We analyze the channel formation mechanisms based on jet flow characteristics and erosion theories. ⺠We also study how the process conditions affect the channel formation process and channel geometrical features. ⺠This is the first study of this kind that has formed the fundamental basis for future study of this new manufacturing process.
