Abstract
⺠The Al2024 alloy-carbon nanotubes composites were produced by mechanical alloying. ⺠The alloy and its composites were tested at wear by a pin-on-disk system. ⺠It was examined the resistance of the composites under several wear conditions. ⺠The greater the CNTs concentration in composites, the greater the resistance to wear. ⺠A hard surface due to Al4C3 and a lubricant layer formed by CNTs were considered.
