Abstract
⺠Microcapsules were formed by in situ polymerization in an oil-in-water emulsion. ⺠The tribological performance of silicone composite coatings prepared on aluminum (Al) alloy substrates was investigated. ⺠The increased microcapsule concentration apparently reduced the friction coefficient of the coatings. ⺠However, the wear resistance of the coatings decreased with increased microcapsule content.
