Abstract
► We develop a test method for friction measurement of sheet metal at high pressure. ► The impact friction test method mimics vehicle crash loading condition. ► Friction properties of high-strength steel depend on pressure and velocity. ► High steel is plastically deformed in 10-55 MPa static friction tests. ► For impact friction tests, friction decreases at 10 MPa, yet increases at 40 MPa.
