Abstract
⺠Pads show a high variability (structural, topographical, tribological). ⺠Surfaces are statistically studied for different wear states. ⺠Stochastic processes are used to model the contact surfaces. ⺠Random fields and contact laws allow to compute realistic pressure distributions. ⺠Friction law with pressure, temperature and velocity dependencies is proposed.
