Abstract
⺠The evolution of surface and subsurface wear of UNS S31603 during erosion-corrosion is studied. ⺠Experiments revealed that increasing layers of lips are formed with increasing test duration. ⺠The depth of the nanocrystalline region formed subsurface increases with direct particle impact. ⺠Graph of mass loss rate versus time gives good correlation with surface and subsurface features. ⺠Physical models are developed based on these observations.
