Abstract
⺠Single particle impactstests were conducted to study wear mechanisms. ⺠Strain-rate effects and increase of temperature in shear band were analysed. ⺠Crater volumes for individual particles were determined using LSCM. ⺠Unit energy for material removal was determined for predictive wearmodels.
