Abstract
▶ Full scale rail wheel test rig tests with friction modifier application. ▶ Friction modifier application reduces wear and RCF formation on the test rig. ▶ Also long term test rig tests result in low wear rates and no RCF formation ▶ Dry friction modifier application on preexisting cracks does not result in accelerated crack growth.
