Abstract
â¶ The model of prediction of rolling bodies residual fatigue lifetime is formulated. â¶ The step-by-step calculation of crack propagation paths are the basis of the model. â¶ The possibility of crack growth both by shear mechanism and opening is provided. â¶ The edge crack growth paths under boundary lubrication conditions are constructed. â¶ The lifetime of some rail steels is evaluated by pitting development.
