Abstract
⺠A method is proposed to complement the ASTM G 171 two-body scratch test standard. ⺠Displaced volume metrics are defined to account for the scratched surface profile. ⺠Performance is demonstrated with proof of concept data. ⺠This method takes advantage of surface resolution capability using interferometery. ⺠Application-specific tips were developed to simulate highly abrasive lunar regolith.
