Abstract
The research focuses on the effect of load and sliding speed on the silver and hBN containing solid lubricating Ni-base composites. The effect of different amount of additions of silver has been investigated and discussed. Possibility of an existence of a probable synergetic action between Ag and hBN has also been explored. The wear rate and friction of composites have been found to improve with the addition of silver. However, no noticeable synergy could be observed between Ag and hBN due to poor transfer and adherence characteristics of hBN.
