Abstract
â¶ PEO coatings produced on Ti-6Al-4V using an aluminate-rich and a phosphate-rich electrolyte. â¶ PTFE topcoat sprayed onto PEO films produced in the phosphate-rich electrolyte. â¶ Dry sliding behaviour of PEO coatings evaluated and related to microstructural and mechanical features. â¶ Wear resistance mainly influenced by coating thickness and uniformity. â¶ Deposition of PTFE beneficial in terms of friction and wear resistance in an intermediate load range.
