Abstract
⺠Low water permeability of FO membranes determines low osmotic efficiency. ⺠If A is low, the active layer creates higher resistance than sublayer and interface. ⺠Non-uniform sublayer porosity affects the draw solute concentration profile. ⺠Membranes from a newly-synthesized CAP polymer have confirmed the above hypotheses.
