Abstract
The use of HC stents in patients with iliac artery occlusive disease may lead to a lower rate of intimal hyperplasia and thus to increased patency rates even in heavily calcified vessels. However, large-scale prospective trials have to be performed to evaluate the long-term patency rates of the HC coated stents.
