Abstract
► Box-Behnken response surface methodology was employed to optimize the experimental conditions. ► Combined effects of three aeration parameters (intensity, time and position) on effluent quality and membrane fouling were studied. ► Aeration flow rate had a more profound effect on effluent quality and membrane fouling, as compared to the other two. ► Energy consumption was also considered.
