Abstract
⺠We study the treatment of p-chlorophenol by UV/ferrioxalate process (UV/Fe(OX)). ⺠We investigate degradation mechanisms involved regarding the type of UV irradiation. ⺠Synergy of direct photolysis and radical mechanism degraded p-CP using UV-C/Fe(OX). ⺠p-CP was dominantly degraded by radical species applying UV-A/Fe(OX). ⺠Presence of oxalates significantly improved the biodegradability of model wastewater.
