Abstract
⺠Electrocoagulation of leachate from OUED SMAR (North-Algeria) town landfill. ⺠Removal of COD, total-N, color and turbidity was satisfactory with 500 A/m2. ⺠Aluminium was found to be more effective in treating leachate than Iron. ⺠Iron electrodes are energetically efficient than aluminium. ⺠Operating cost was 0.47 US$/m3 with Fe electrodes and 0.54 US$/m3 with Al.
