Abstract
High antibacterial resistance of uropathogens isolated from kidney transplantation and nontransplantation patients is alarming. The higher resistance to third-generation cephalosporins in transplant recipients may be due to antibiotic selection pressure secondary to postsurgical prophylaxis with cefixime.
