Abstract
⺠We examined changes in GABA signaling in the embryonic mouse spinal cord. ⺠We found the distinct development of GABA neurons in ventral and dorsal horns. ⺠GABA may be excitatory for several days before the formation of synapses. ⺠There was a ventral-to-dorsal gradient in the development of GABA signaling. ⺠GABA signaling continued to develop after birth.
