Abstract
⺠This is the first study to show that galectin-3 is up-regulated in delayed neuronal death. ⺠Galectin-3 expression is localized within the hippocampal CA1 region and observed only in cells that express Iba-1. ⺠Hypothermia prevents the expression of galectin-3 up-regulation.
