Abstract
⺠FXS is a common form of mental disability and one of the known causes of autism. ⺠Targeted treatments of FXS based on the mGluR theory is a feasible therapeutic strategy. ⺠It is also important to extend our understanding of FMRP functions beyond mGluR signaling. ⺠Several potassium channels show alterations in mouse models of FXS. ⺠We suggest possible therapeutic avenues for treating FXS regarding the role of potassium channels.
