Abstract
⺠Biaxial stretch injury model applied to SHSY-5Y cells cultured on silicone substrate. ⺠Precisely characterized strain and strain rates with high speed imaging system. ⺠Identified three injury regimes in stretch-induced dose-response curves of cells. ⺠Sharp decline from live to dead is noted in a narrow range of strain (30-55%). ⺠Our in vitro model is useful in precise evaluation of injury criterion (risk) curves.
