Abstract
► Creatine produced a protective effect against 6-hydroxydopamine-induced cell death. ► The protective effect of creatine involves PI3K/AKT, PKA and PKC. ► ERK1/2 and CaMKII modulation is implicated in the protective effect of creatine. ► Creatine reversed the decline in GSK-3β phosphorylation induced by 6-OHDA. ► Creatine could be a potent protective factor for catecholaminergic cell survival.
