Abstract
► HMGB1 was released into the cytoplasm soon after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). ► Administration of ethyl pyruvate decreased the inflammation in the ICH. ► HMGB1 may act as an proinflammatory cytokine to mediate inflammation in the ICH.
