Abstract
⺠We discovered a novel interaction between the POZ/BTB protein NAC1 and TDP-43. ⺠We developed a spinal cord culture, glutamate toxicity model to mimic ALS. ⺠Glutamate treatment causes mis-localization, fragmentation and phosphorylation of TDP-43. ⺠Glutamate treatment induced increased co-localization of cytoplasmic TDP-43 and NAC1. ⺠The interaction of NAC1 and TDP-43 may link TDP-43 to the proteasome.
