Abstract
⺠Lipoic acid treatment is applied for 7 days after the brain cryo-injury. ⺠We studied the antioxidant capacity of the brain with this treatment. ⺠Lipoic acid decreases cell death and promotes proliferation 15 days after the injury. ⺠The glial response was reduced and increased angiogenic processes. ⺠We propose lipoic acid as a restorative treatment after a brain injury.
